A total of $100,000 in funding is made available each grant cycle. Individual awards are offered in two main categories: up to around $5,000 for emerging and established artists or artist collectives, and up to about $10,000 for 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations and fiscally sponsored entities that present arts programming.
Funds can be used for a variety of project-related purposes such as project production costs, materials, honoraria, rentals, and programming support that help bring artistic work and cultural activities to the public. Eligible applicants include individual artists age 18 or older, studio collectives, and nonprofit arts organizations that operate within the local area and contribute to the arts and culture landscape.
For-profit businesses and individuals outside of the arts focus are not the intended recipients. Projects funded through this program are expected to engage the community, provide meaningful cultural experiences, and reflect the diversity of artistic expression. The intent of the funding is to enhance cultural participation, support creative expression, and expand access to arts experiences.
Awarded organizations and artists are often asked to share results and outcomes after the project to demonstrate how the funds helped achieve community and artistic impact. Grants are allocated through a competitive review process with deadlines and award announcements each year.
