SBIR/STTR is now Reauthorized The SBIR and STTR programs have been reauthorized and the DoW is issuing BAAs on a new monthly schedule. The DoW Services and Components may elect to release topics under these monthly BAAs throughout fiscal year 2026, and the Navy will participate in several of them.
The monthly BAAs will be pre-released on the first Wednesday of each month with each release having corresponding open and close dates applicable to the topics within that release. for announcement of revised solicitations. Please monitor DSIP for the most up to date information regarding SBIR/STTR Program impacts specific to program reauthorization.

These BAAs include 6 conventional SBIR topics, 3 Direct to Phase II SBIR topics and 2 conventional STTR topics. There are no Navy "Open Topic" Commercial Solutions Openings (CSO) in this release. The pre-release period is 6 May through 26 May and allows for direct communication between small businesses and Technical Points of Contact (TPOCs) to answer technical questions about the topics.
The solicitations open to proposal submission on 27 May and close 24 June at 12:00 p. m. EDT.
A Topic Q&A page, available on the Defense SBIR/STTR Innovation Portal (DSIP), allows firms to post technical questions publicly for TPOC response. The Topic Q&A page on DSIP will close to new questions on 10 June 2026.
