About EPSCoR and Award Announcements about Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research By State and Jurisdiction The EPSCoR program is directed at those jurisdictions that have not participated equably in competitive aerospace and aerospace-related research activities. Twenty-five states, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Guam currently participate.
Five federal agencies, including NASA, conduct EPSCoR programs. NASA awards funding to universities and organizations across the country for research and technology development projects in areas critical to the agency’s mission.
The Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR) program supports science and technology research and development at colleges and universities in areas, such as remote sensing, artificial intelligence, astrophysics and aeronautics. All of these are applicable to NASA’s work in Earth science, aeronautics, and human and robotic deep space exploration.
EPSCoR is designed to fulfill the mandate of the National Science Foundation (NSF) to promote scientific progress nationwide.
EPSCoR RII: EPSCoR Research Fellows (formerly knowns as EPSCoR RII Track – 4) provides awards to build research capacity in institutions and transform the career trajectories of investigators and further develop their individual research potential through collaborations with investigators from the nation’s premier private, governmental, or academic research centers.
NASA Solicitation and Proposal Integrated Review and Evaluation System Supporting research in science and technology is an important part of NASA's overall mission. NASA solicits this research through the release of various announcements in a wide range of disciplines. NASA uses a peer review process to evaluate and select proposals submitted in response to these announcements.
