Extreme Terrain's Clean Trail Grant Program is sponsored by Extreme Terrain. Extreme Terrain offers grants to support trail improvement projects, which can include trail clean-up, restoration, and expansion.

The custom built, and modified, Jeeps and trucks we all love do have an impact on the land they travel over.

Even with careful use of things like winches and tow straps , trails can take a beating. When we wrap our aftermarket wheels in big, honkin’ 33+ inch off-road tires , or drag our skid plates on some righteous rocks, the terrain can get chewed up. When we bounce around rocky terrain with no tops , or camp out for the night, we may leave some accidental trash behind.

Here at ExtremeTerrain, we respect the integrity of the landscape we live, drive and play on, and strive to leave the trails we enjoy better than we found them.

For this reason we are pleased to launch the Clean Trail Grant program as outlined below: This program will provide eligible groups the opportunity to apply for a grant to fund their next trail improvement related project, which could range from trail clean-up, trail restoration, trail expansion, to name a few.

Various Wrangler and 4x4 groups and organizations, as well as those who manage publicly and privately owned trails are invited to apply for the grant. In addition, groups or organizations that manage projects to clean up and maintain nature preserves, walking/hiking trails and public parks are also welcome to apply.

To be considered, applicants must meet one of the following requirements: Organize or belong to a Wrangler/4x4 group/club with more than 5 members Organize or belong to an environmental organization/club with more than 5 members Own or work at a private or public off-road park Organize or belong to an OHV Organization with more than 5 members Organize a trail clean-up project with a dedicated 4x4/off-road purpose Proof of your affiliation with organization/club/park Must provide digital photo of trail improvement project Action shots of volunteers preferred!

PALMETTO TRAIL (MOUNTAINS TO SEA IN SOUTH CAROLINA) Trail: Palmetto Trail Fort Jackson Purpose: Purchase clippers and loppers to use during clean up events. Trail: Poultney River and Rail Trail Purpose: We plan to have multiple volunteer days over the summer to help with the work. Purpose: To improve the trail system and put on a volunteer event.

AUTREY MILL NATURE PRESERVE & HERITAGE CENTER Trail: Autrey Mill Nature Preserve Purpose: We would use the grant to fix some of the trail head signs and the boardwalk trail that crosses the wetlands.

Trail: Los Padres Forest, Montana de Oro State Park, and San Luis Obispo Open Space Purpose: Purchase of trail tools for trail bosses. We are a multi-use trail group of mountain bikers, hikers and equestrians working together on public trails throughout San Luis Obispo County including U.S. Forest Service.

Trail: Truckee Meadows Nature Study Area Purpose: Funds from the Extreme Terrain Clean Trail Grant Program will support event coordinators and volunteers by funding snacks and beverages, event marketing, and pertinent PPE to ensure that our event is a safe and enjoyable experience in nature.

Trail: Cheyenne Mountain State Park Purpose: We plan to purchase new chains for the chainsaws that we use to maintain the trail corridors in the park. Trail: Powell Township Recreation Area Purpose: Purchase hand tools for the ongoing build of a brand new single non-motorized trail system currently under development. The tools will be able to be used for the work day and then live at the site for future build and maintenance days.

NORTHWEST YOUTH CORPS / IDAHO CONSERVATION CORPS Trail: Loon Lake, McCall Ranger District Purpose: Purchase more trail tools. Trail: Burton Creek State Park Lake Tahoe California Purpose: Trail Crew support.

Trail: Stevens Creek Trail and Permanente Creek Trail Purpose: In support of our operations in fulfilling our mission - "Promote community pride and involvement in the completion, enhancement and enjoyment of the Stevens Creek and Permanente Creek Trails and wildlife corridors." Purpose: Equipment/supplies for volunteers including limb cutters and saws.

Trail: La Tierra Trails Chili Line Trail Purpose: For signage and barriers to identify and protect the historic Chili Line railroad bed, where we are putting a natural-surface rail trail for use on foot or bicycle. Trail: Allatoona Creek Park Purpose: The money will be used to help feed our volunteers. They have done over 1000 hours of work since January.

Trail: Outdoor Discovery Center Purpose: We will use the grant to help clear and build a new portion of trail for our Cultural History Center, an area of our property dedicated to education about Michigan's history. Trail: Spencer Freeride Trails Purpose: Purchase of trail maintenance tools, promotional product giveaways for our top trail maintenance volunteers, and purchase of food & seltzer for Fall 2020 trail days. AVALONIA LAND CONSERVANCY, INC. NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION Trail: Tri-Town Forest Preserve Purpose: A volunteer trails team has constructed and maintains over 10 miles of trails on the Tri-Town Forest Preserve. Purpose: Buying PPE such as gloves and hard hats. IOSCO EXPLORATION TRAIL, IET Trail: Iosco Exploration Trail Purpose: Promotional materials to attract volunteers.

Trail: American River Parkway Trail Purpose: To purchase supplies for trail maintenance. Purpose: We plan to purchase additional hand tools and/or sign supplies needed for trail cleaning/restoration/expansion.

Trail: Weiser River Trail Purpose: Trail improvement expenses Trail: Gold Butte National Monument Purpose: For food and beverages for volunteers that participate in National Public Lands Day projects within Gold Butte National Monument. Trail: Boxley Valley Trail Purpose: To open a new trail that will lead to 2 waterfalls allowing visitors to hike or ride into the historic Boxley Valley.

Trail: Oak Mountain State Park Purpose: The grant will be used to replace broken trail building/maintenance tools, and to provide lunch for volunteers. Trail: One of hundreds of miles of trails in San Diego County Purpose: Tools for trail building, food for volunteers, or building supplies (such as pavers, rebar, lumber, etc.).

Trail: SoHum Community Park multi-use Trails Purpose: We would use the grant to feed and hydrate our volunteers at our trail maintenance and development work parties this summer and fall. Purpose: Together we restore, preserve and enhance Memorial Park for the enjoyment of all Houstonians, today and tomorrow. Purpose: Trail clearing and routine maintenance.

Purpose: Trail cleanup/improvement - brush removal, landscaping, drainage culvert cleaning. Trail: Rock River Hiking Trail Purpose: Our goal is to make a new trail in a wooded area along the creek. Volunteer work days will be scheduled to assist with clearing, trail work and plantings.

Trail: North Trail (Crystal Lake Scout Reservation) Purpose: Funding will be primarily for equipment and volunteer supplies. NORWALK RIVER VALLEY TRAIL (NRVT) Trail: NRVT (Norwalk River Valley Trail) Purpose: Clean up of existing trail. Trail: Uwharrie National Forest Purpose: Purchase of supplies, equipment, refreshments, signs, and other essential items for trail workdays.

Purpose: Funds will be used for equipment, dirt, or tools to complete and repair these trail elements.. Purpose: Purchase of food & liquids for volunteer trail work event, or T-shirts with our logo to give to known volunteers. Trail: Colorado River Refuge Purpose: Support our volunteer work days and purchase two McCloud trail tools, one new pair of loppers, T-posts, and food for the work days.

Trail: Uwharrie National Forest Purpose: Purchase of tools and non-alcoholic refreshments for volunteers during regular trail maintenance workdays. Purpose: Purchase of lunches and non-alcoholic drinks. Trail: Payette National Forest Purpose: Provide food for volunteers on Center Ridge Bridge projects.

Purpose: Purchase specialized trail tools. Purpose: Donated funds will be used to promote a new pollinator garden. Purpose: Donation money would be used for culverts for Shoup Bay Trail.

Trail: 3B Off Road Trail Clean Up Purpose: Clearing, design/maintenance, signage. Trail: The Ridge Nature Area Purpose: The funds would be used for materials and equipment. Trail: White Mountains Trail System Purpose: Pay for trash bags, tools, and gloves for volunteers.

Trail: Riverfront Heritage Trail Purpose: Grant funds will be used to purchase trail clean-up tools and equipment, and snacks/lunch for the volunteers. Trail: Swayback Bridge Trail Purpose: Cleanup supplies for Trailhead and kiosk. Trail: Bear Creek Greenway Purpose: To supply volunteers with snacks and non-alcoholic drinks before and after participating in the clean-up.

Trail: Keweenaw Point Trail Purpose: Feed volunteers helping to haul materials to bridges on our single-track mountain bike trail, the Keweenaw Point Trail. Trail: Polly Ann Trail Oakland County Purpose: To purchase trash bags to be used by community volunteers to clean trash from the Polly Ann Trail. Trail: Pemberton Memorial Forest Purpose: Purchase a rock bar, rock sling, pocket hole jig, food, and drink to volunteers for workdays.

STAR OF THE NORTH CHAPTER, NORTH COUNTRY TRAIL ASSN. Trail: North Country National Scenic Trail Purpose: Feed crews, purchase tools and materials. Purpose: Organize a cleanup that also includes new plantings along the Trail for Fall/Winter.

MID-SOUTH TRAILS ASSOCIATION Purpose: Purchase Rogue Hoes to clear and expand trails. Trail: Shawnee National Forest Purpose: Purchase of trail clearing equipment. Trail: Big Basin Redwoods State Park Purpose: This grant will help purchase tools, supplies and meals for volunteers.

MISSOURI OFF-ROAD CYCLISTS Trail: Sac River Trail System Purpose: Purchase a new weed eater for our trail crews to use during their Spring and Summer. Purpose: Food for volunteers.

Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation Trail: Crooked Mile, Idlewild Park Purpose: Purchase new loppers and handsaws to be used to remove invasive weeds and other pests from the trail. Trail: Doce Pit, Prescott National Forest Purpose: Purchase of much needed rakes for volunteers to use at all future cleanup events as well as trash bags to aid with clean up.

Backcountry Off-Road Adventure Rally Trail: 5 Mile Pass Recreation Area Purpose: Purchase of trash bags, gloves, and trash grabbing tools. As well as assiting with the cost of responsible trash disposal.. Purpose: Purchase orange reflective signs for the trail as well as trash bags and essentials for the day.

Purpose: Purchase equipment, food, and garbage bags to be used during one of several trips throughout the year to clean up after campers and assist the park service in looking for areas of concern (erosion, road closures, etc.). Purpose: Provide lunch for the volunteers that come out to help with repairing fencing on the trails, putting up new fencing, blocking illegal trails and general trail clean up.

Trail: Moonlight Racing Off Road Park, Troy, Missouri Purpose: Trail expansion project with funds going toward lunch and water for participants, as well as small hand tools for branches and loppers for larger branches. Trail: The 1869 Homestead, Allenton, WI Purpose: Trail expansion project, with funds going toward equipment rentals to clear land, as well as safety glasses, chainsaw chains, gloves, etc for volunteers.

South Mountain Conservancy Trail: South Mountain Wildflower Preserve Purpose: Purchase seeds and plants for the wildflower preserve, maintained by Volunteers Arizona Trail Association Trail: Arizona National Scenic Trail Purpose: Support volunteer coordination for a full day of trail maintenance on Passage 18 of the Arizona Trail, Reavis Canyon Montana Overland & 4x4 Adventures Trail: Skyline Mine Trail Purpose: Food and refreshments for the volunteers; advertising; a new picnic table at the Skyline Mine camp site.

Trail: Tuttle Creek ORV Area Purpose: Gatorade, & basic trail snacks for volunteers; fuel for chain saws & trimmers. Purpose: With the Forest Service, placing a toilet in a strategic location on Imogene Pass. Trail: Mileslip and Osgood Trails Purpose: Purchase a cheap trail camera to catch the culprits dumping trash and continue to maintain our trail system.

Purpose: Buying shovels, safety equipment, food and water for the trail maintenance days. Onslow County NC Boy Scouts Trail: North Topsail Beach Purpose: Provide cleanup supplies for volunteers cleaning the beach, including buckets or reusable bags, gloves, and reusable water bottles. Around the Sound Jeep Club Purpose: Pay for tools & safety equipment.
