Purpose: This grant provides funding to defray the cost of attending an in-person or virtual teaching-related conference, workshop or training, with or without presenting. Eligibility: All faculty (tenure track, tenured, affiliate, visiting, and adjunct). Staff not eligible.

Preference is given to first time Faculty Conference Grant applicants. Preference is given to applicants who have not used this grant to attend the same conference in the previous 3-5 years. All applications must explicitly state how attendance at the conference will impact their teaching and hopefully, the learning of their students.

Application Timing: For events held July through December, applications open April 15 . For events held January through June, applications open October 15 . Once the application window opens, t he Pew FTLC will wait two weeks before reviewing all applications .

The grant will be awarded until funds for that period of travel have been depleted. NOTE: Funds for travel during the first half of the 2026-2027 academic year (travel between July 1, 2026–December 31, 2026) have been DEPLETED . No additional applications will be accepted.

Faculty will still be able to apply for Conference Grant Funding for travel occurring between January 1, 2027–June 30, 2027 once that application window opens on October 15, 2026. If you are presenting at a conference, we encourage you to consider applying for a Faculty Dissemination Grant with the Center for Scholarly and Creative Excellence (CSCE). Recipients will be notified within four weeks of applying.

After careful examination of each proposal to confirm alignment with the established guidelines and approval from your unit head, grant recipients will be notified within one week of applying. Final Report Instructions Each applicant who is awarded a Faculty Conference Grant will be responsible for submitting a Final Report (brief reflection) via the online system within 30 days of the conference end date.

The Pew FTLC will send out an automatic reminder e-mail for your convenience. The Final Report will ask you to summarize the following (500 word limit): What tools, skills, knowledge and/or professional connections did you gain by attending the conference? How will you implement what you have learned into your classroom, unit/college, and/or community?

To submit a Final Report, click on "Final Report" under "Application Details" within the FTLC Grant System . Reimbursements will not be processed until a Final Report has been received.

Your unit will attach a copy of your expense report Amendment for Organization process in Workday and send that to the Pew Faculty Teaching and Learning Center (this process was previously done in OnBase). Upon submission of your Final Report and a copy of your expense report attached to the Budget Amendment, your unit will be reimbursed by the Pew FTLC.
