gov The Grant Fit Assessment can help organizations assess a grant opportunity to determine the extent to which it aligns with a specific project or program.
A grant that is a “strong fit” is one that aligns closely with an organization’s mission, project goals, and unmet funding needs and has appropriate funding levels, compliance requirements that an organization can meet, and a timeline that aligns with the project’s readiness and the organization’s internal capacities and capabilities.
This tool provides a structured rubric to evaluate key factors, ensuring a strategic approach to grant opportunity prioritization. If multiple funding sources are available, the tool can also assist in prioritizing which grants to pursue. ● Step 1: For each indicator, evaluate where your organization falls across the three ● Step 2: Assign a score of 0, 1, or 2 for each indicator based on your assessment.
Example: Scoring a Grant’s “Fit” for an Indicator ● Step 3: Add up the scores for each indicator to calculate the total “grant fit” score. The highest possible score is 30 points. ● Step 4: Review the total score to determine the extent to which the funding opportunity is a good fit for your organization or project.
