The 2026 plan focuses on four priorities: Workforce and infrastructure to improve access to high-quality, culturally competent care. Support safety net providers to maintain access to essential health care services. Community education and engagement to support Medi-Cal enrollment and retention.
Community Health Worker (CHW) capacity building. With this strategic shift, Round 1 2026 marked the final application round for the Doula Recruitment, Medical Assistant Recruitment, Parent Education & Support and Community Health Champions programs. These programs have now concluded.
This month, the Alliance is launching a new Member Outreach and Retention (MOR) Program . The program will fund community partners to provide outreach, education and hands-on enrollment support to help eligible members retain their Medi-Cal coverage.

NCI Continuing Umbrella of Research Experiences (CURE) Academic Career Excellence (ACE) Award (K32) is a grant from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) that funds early postdoctoral fellows from diverse backgrounds, including underrepresented groups, to pursue research training in cancer-related fields. The K32 award supports fellows within 12 months prior to transitioning into, or within the first two years of, a postdoctoral position.
