This matching grant program supports innovative, place-based projects that preserve, interpret, and strengthen the cultural and natural heritage of Mississippi’s six coastal counties while expanding economic opportunity and community pride.
What types of projects are eligible • Historic preservation and community enhancement • Cultural collections, archives, oral histories, and documentation • Natural resource conservation and environmental interpretation • Recreation, trails, signage, and heritage tourism materials Projects that are regional or multi-county, involve active partnerships, and leverage strong matching support are especially encouraged.
Requests range from $5,000 to $75,000 A dollar-for-dollar non-federal match is required Funding is provided through the National Park Service • City, county, and state governments • Universities and academic institutions • Non-profit organizations • Federally recognized tribes • Recognized Gulf Coast Outpost Businesses Applicants must serve one or more of Mississippi’s six coastal counties: George, Hancock, Harrison, Jackson, Pearl River, or Stone.
