com The Official Website of the City of New York Homeowner Repair Grants and Loans Lead Paint Repair Grant for financial assistance to make lead paint repairs Home Repair Assistance for Seniors to learn about free minor home repairs for low-income or moderate-income seniors age 60+ Foreclosure Prevention for housing and legal counseling for homeowners concerned about foreclosure The Center for NYC Neighborhoods (CNYCN) works with homeowners to help them make their homes safe and energy efficient.

If you're a homeowner, the Center may be able to help you access: Home repairs through the City-funded HomeFix program. A home energy efficiency audit conducted by a licensed contractor. Energy efficient upgrades such as weatherization, insulation, and heating and cooling system upgrades (examples include hot water heaters, boilers, furnaces, air source heat pumps, and other mechanicals).

Funding to help pay for efficiency upgrades and renewable energy like solar. A Community Energy Advisor who can discuss energy efficiency strategies with you. Funding to help make modifications to your home so you can age in place (examples include accessible shower tubs and support bars, ramps, modifying kitchen cabinets and equipment, widening doorways at entrances or exits to your home, etc).

Learn about the HomeFix program. Call 311 or 212-NEW-YORK (212-639-9675) for help. Primary Prevention for Lead Hazard Abatement The Primary Prevention Plan provides grant money to owners of eligible homes and multi-unit apartment buildings to lower the hazards from lead-based paint.

Buildings are eligible if: Occupants are low- / very low-income Some units have a child or children 5 years old or younger residing in them Learn more about grants for lead-based paint treatment.

Agency: Department of Housing Preservation and Development Division: Primary Prevention Program Phone Number: (212) 863-8860 Business Hours: Monday - Friday: 9 AM - 5 PM May 20 Flash Flood Disaster Loan Assistance Eligible New York City residents and businesses affected by the significant flash flooding event on May 20, 2026 may now apply for low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

These loans are made available for those whose homes and/or businesses were damaged due to flooding. The following groups may be eligible for SBA disaster loans: Homeowners: up to $500,000 to repair their primary residence. Homeowners and renters: up to $100,000 to repair or replace damaged or destroyed personal property.

Business owners: up to $2,000,000 for the replacement of real property, inventories, machinery, equipment, and other physical losses. Businesses and nonprofits: Economic Injury Disaster Loans of up to $2,000,000 to provide necessary working capital until normal operations resume after a disaster. The filing deadline to submit applications is August 31, 2026 for physical damage, and March 30, 2027 for economic injury.
