0, Feeding America’s transformative initiative that identifies food-insecure patients during medical visits and connects them to food banks providing access to nutritious food. By the end of 2025, the Foundation surpassed a key milestone, investing more than $1 million in organizations addressing the physical, behavioral, and social factors that influence health in under-resourced communities.
Building on a decade-long commitment by our associates to Elevance Health Volunteer Days, the 2025 season of service logged 154 projects that helped reduce food insecurity by distributing 973,872 pounds of food.
Community Action Leadership Inaugural Patient Safety Prize Our Community Action Leadership program cultivates collaboration among external thought leaders in addressing large-scale community health needs and incentivizes action for change. Our inaugural challenge focuses on patient safety.
We are seeking pioneering community-informed solutions from a diverse group of candidates, including nonprofit organizations, healthcare institutions, technology companies, and patient-advocacy groups. A total prize pool of $5 million will be distributed to recipients who offer actionable, impactful innovations. Inception of Foundation and launch of its Healthy Generations Program.
The Foundation joins forces with the March of Dimes to reduce low birth weight and preterm births. The American Cancer Society and the Foundation team to expand health equity in at-risk communities—the Foundation’s first million-dollar grant.
