The Eisner Foundation identifies, advocates for, and invests in high-quality and innovative programs that unite multiple generations for the enrichment of our communities. As the only U.S.-based foundation exclusively focused on intergenerational solutions to society’s challenges, we welcome applications from organizations in our geographic service area that leverage intergenerational connection as a tool to address social problems.
These efforts include, but are not limited to: * **Education:** Programs that support collaborative learning for people of all ages * **Arts:** Opportunities for people of different generations to engage with the arts * **Mentorship:** Activities that encourage people of different ages to learn from each other * **Healthcare:** Programs that leverage intergenerational solutions in healthcare settings and address loneliness and social isolation * **Grandfamilies:** Efforts that support older adults assuming care of grandchildren or other kin * **Community Development:** Programs that bring together people of different generations to improve their community Our competitive grantmaking is generally confined to 501(c)(3) organizations in Los Angeles County and the five boroughs of New York City.
