Office of International Trade Office of International Trade Economic Development New Mexico’s Office of International Trade supports job creation, retention and business expansion by helping New Mexico companies compete in the global marketplace. With the majority of consumers living outside the United States, exporting is essential for small and mid‑size businesses.
Exporting companies report on average higher wages and increased revenue compared to firms operating only in domestic markets. Global presence to support growth, partnerships and opportunity. The Office of International Trade supports companies across the state with comprehensive export assistance and global market development services.
In addition to direct support for New Mexico businesses, the office maintains strategic international representation to expand opportunities and relationships in key global markets. With two international offices in Taipei, Taiwan and Mexico City, we’re strengthening New Mexico’s ability to create new opportunities for business growth.
The Office of International Trade provides: One-on-one trade consultations – Guidance on exporting, market-entry strategies, cultural considerations, logistics, finance, and international distribution. STEP program coordination – Delivered in partnership with the U.S. Department of Commerce Export Assistance Center, co-located within Economic Development.
Workshops and seminars – Covering export finance, logistics, pricing, cross-cultural communication, and country‑specific opportunities. International trade events – Trade missions and trade shows that connect New Mexico companies directly with foreign buyers, distributors, and consumers. Reverse trade missions – Bringing foreign trade and investment delegations to New Mexico to explore sourcing and investment opportunities.
