DOT/DNR Fund – Trees Forever Funding provided for roadside beautification of primary system corridors with plant materials. Eligible Project Criteria The site must be on a primary highway right-of-way, including primary highway extensions. Additional Requirements and Information Maximum of $100,000 per application per year.
DOT personnel will review plans and specifications. Participation is limited to cost of materials and installation of seed or live plants. Applications for DOT Sponsorship of Highway Plantings permits must be submitted to, and approved by, the district staff.
Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) Letters of request are accepted all year and, if selected, are funded in the order in which they are received. The average length of time for an acceptance decision is 90 days.
