acs. org/funding/grants/acs-gci-pharmaceutical-roundtable-research-grant. html) Recipient Faculty, Industry, Student Category Green Chemistry, Research To address key synthetic chemistry and process research challenges whose solutions result in more efficient pharmaceutical process development and production.
The ACS Green Chemistry Institute Pharmaceutical Roundtable (GCIPR) has identified key synthetic chemistry and process research challenges whose solutions would result in more efficient pharmaceutical process development and production. To spur research in these areas, the Roundtable established a research grant program in 2007 that has funded more than $4. 7 million to date.
**Request for proposals are now open through May 1, 2026. ** ### Key Research Area Grants This annual grant program targets key research areas identified each year by the ACS Green Chemistry Institute Pharmaceutical Roundtable, where advances in understanding would be most likely to yield more sustainable chemistries and processes of interest to pharma and allied industries.
From these areas, the GCIPR selects a handful each year for Key Research Area Grants—currently a $80,000 award for a 12-month research commitment. Grant winners work closely with the GCIPR focus team who proposed the grant topic. ### Ignition Grant Program The Ignition Grant program was launched in 2016 to support high-risk, high-reward projects that aim to accelerate progress in green chemistry technologies by incentivizing innovation.
Ignition grants currently provide recipients with $40,000 over six months. Award winners work closely with appropriate GCIPR members depending on the topic. Learn more and apply at the ACS GCI Pharmaceutical Roundtable Grants Program.
* Early Spring: Roundtable issues request for proposals on select topics. * Late Spring: Proposals are due in late spring and the Roundtable sends acceptance notifications by late summer. * Fall: Research commences upon transfer of funds.
Grants typically last 6-12 months. Learn about the ACS GCI Pharmaceutical Roundtable 2024 Grant Winners. * Local Section Sustainability Programming GrantPromoting opportunities to increase awareness of the essential role of chemistry in responding to sustainability challenges.
* ACS Graduate Student Success GrantTo support graduate students (M. S. and Ph.
D.) , within one year of degree completion, whose education and training were disrupted due to recent termination or cancellation of research grants. Funding will be given to the Principal Investigator of the lab.
The grant seeks to lower the risk of a declining number of U.S.-trained chemists with advanced degrees, thereby preserving the strength and continuity of the scientific community.
* Herman Frasch Foundation GrantsSupporting research in agricultural chemistry at nonprofit incorporated institutions that will be of practical benefit to the agricultural development of the U.S. * Global Innovation Imperatives (Gii)")Providing funding for a multi-day forum/conference that contributes to the resolution of global sustainability issues.
