-- On Wednesday night, small business owners learned about an opportunity to renovate their small businesses. The Mohawk Valley Economic Development District held a public meeting in Richfield Springs to discuss how businesses can apply for the Small Projects Fund. A grant awarded by the New York Forward program led to Richfield Springs receiving $513,000 to improve the downtown area.
Small projects include improvements to the facade or interior of the buildings that businesses are in. The owner of the building is the one that needs to submit the application. Businesses could receive up to $100,000 in funding for renovations.
Construction could start within a year after a project's approval. Online applications will be available here . Applications are open from Feb.
