Partnering with individuals, government agencies, nonprofit organizations and corporations, the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) works to protect and restore imperiled species, promote healthy oceans and estuaries, improve working landscapes for wildlife, advance sustainable fisheries and conserve water for wildlife and people.
NFWF is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, governed by a 30-member Board of Directors approved by the Secretary of the Interior. Conservation programs cover many ecosystems and address challenges in oceans and coasts, forests and grasslands and freshwater environments. This program uses direct funding only from the annual appropriations law for on-the-ground conservation matched at least at a 1:1 basis.
