The National Institute on Aging's Artificial Intelligence and Technology Collaboratories (AITC) program promotes the development and implementation of AI approaches and technology for aging and Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias (ADRD) research. The program supports P30 Center Core awards that serve as collaborative hubs bringing together AI/ML researchers, clinicians, and aging scientists to develop AI tools for cognitive impairment identification, prediction of disease trajectories, and optimization of care delivery for older adults. A companion U24 Coordinating Center award supports cross-site coordination, shared infrastructure, and standardized evaluation frameworks. NIA committed $21.5 million total in FY 2026 across both the P30 (RFA-AG-26-006) and U24 (RFA-AG-26-007) mechanisms. While the current application cycle has closed, the AITC continues as an active multi-year program with potential for future funding opportunities.
BRAIN Initiative Connectivity across Scales (BRAIN CONNECTS): Comprehensive Centers for Mouse Brain (UM1 Clinical Trial Not Allowed) is sponsored by National Institute on Aging (NIA), National Institutes of Health.
