By creating a well-informed community of mandatory reporters, this initiative is ensuring that the elderly age with dignity and respect.
Putting Donations to Work As a charitable grantmaking organization, the OSBF awards grants to Ohio nonprofits addressing specific, unmet legal needs in our communities. Since 1992, the Foundation has awarded more than $15 million to law-related philanthropic organizations and projects across Ohio.

Fellows Class of 2026 Induction & Reception Over $609K Awarded to Ohio Nonprofits & Organizations in Ohio State Bar Foundation’s 2026 Spring Grant Cycle – The Ohio State Bar Foundation (OSBF) Board of Trustees approved 12 Ohio nonprofits and organizations to receive $609,256 in its latest round of grant funding.
This Spring Grant Cycle kicks off a year of grant making that includes three cycles: the Spring Grant Cycle, the Racial Justice Initiative Grant Cycle, and the Fall Grant Cycle. Ohio State Bar Foundation Announces 2026 Annual Award Winners The Ohio State Bar Foundation (OSBF) is pleased to announce the winners of the 2026 annual awards, who will be honored at the OSBF 75th Anniversary Gala this fall.
OSBF Fellow Spotlight: Wendi Fowler Wendi Fowler became a Fellow in 2023, after joining the Ohio State Bar Association's Board of Governors, where she gained a deeper understanding of how the Foundation increases access to justice across Ohio. "I wanted to contribute to that mission, even in a small way," she said. "The work of the OSBF in the access to justice space reaches people who often have nowhere else to turn."
Over $860K Awarded in Ohio State Bar Foundation’s Latest Grant Cycles The Ohio State Bar Foundation (OSBF) Board of Trustees approved $862,490 in grants to 21 Ohio nonprofit organizations between its 2025 Fall Grant Cycle and the Racial Justice Initiative Grant Cycle.
This latest round of funding marks a historic milestone for the OSBF in its 75th anniversary year: 2025 was the Foundation’s largest fund allocation year to date at $1,421,490. Discover How AI is Changing the Legal Landscape at the Ohio State Bar Foundation’s AI & The Law Symposium The Ohio State Bar Foundation (OSBF) will host a symposium in March unpacking the effects of artificial intelligence (AI) on the legal landscape.
Sessions will explore the implications of AI use from law school classrooms to courtrooms, with a focus on the intersection of AI and ethics for practicing legal professionals.
This informative event will take place at the Ohio Statehouse on March 19 and bring together experts for memorable and illuminating discussions on AI’s influence on the law and $50,000 to improve access to legal information and assistance for older Ohioans in underserved communities, including individuals with limited English proficiency or disabilities.
The initiative will include a professional accessibility audit of Pro Seniors’ website, phone system, and outreach materials, as well as the creation of select Spanish-language resources. The project also aims to support caregivers and families by making legal information more accessible.
$55,000 to pilot brief immigration legal advice at clinics and expand outreach through bilingual “Know Your Rights” workplace education to better protect vulnerable workers in Northeast Ohio.
$120,000 to celebrate justice, legacy, and education through the construction of the "Women in Law" exhibit honoring Ohio's trailblazing female justices and presenting their contributions as a source of inspiration for future generations. The project aims to engage audiences, making the principles of justice more relatable and accessible.
$50,000 to expand access to legal services in underserved rural communities while strengthening Ohio's statewide pro bono legal network. Programming will include Wills Wednesdays for estate planning and Fresh Start Fridays for expungement and license reinstatement. $175,000 for building pathways for underserved Ohio students who are interested in attending law school or becoming leaders in their communities.
This project will include a modernized curriculum and an immersive training program for teaching fellows. $18,000 to Adopt A Class Foundation to expand its Pathways to Law and Legal Services Careers through Mentorship program. This grant will recruit 15 additional mentor teams, reaching a total of 1,000 students.
The program includes modules with case studies, vignettes, and role-play activities to explore legal careers. Serving Hamilton and Butler counties. $18,180 to develop an evidence-based multi-disciplinary response for children with problematic sexual behaviors.
Additionally, outreach will be expanded to include rural communities throughout Portage County. This project will close service gaps, reduce re-offense rates, and create a more just community. $15,000 to fund the transportation of clients from prisons to job sites as part of a pre-release, work-release program.
Through this project, inmates will learn transferrable skills, gain real work experience, and be fairly compensated for their labor, thereby reducing the rate of recidivism. $32,468 to advance racial justice in Ohio's civil legal system by increasing equitable representation for BIPOC survivors of domestic violence.
This project will equip attorneys with trauma-informed, culturally responsive strategies to reduce bias and re-traumatization, ultimately improving survivor-centered legal representation statewide.
$15,000 for The Refuge, in partnership with JusticeMobile, which provides essential legal support to residents in its addiction recovery program, addressing issues like license suspensions, past convictions, housing instability, and family legal matters.

The SCI Youth Grant Pitch Contest is a competitive program from Social Capital Inc. that funds youth-led community improvement projects in Greater Boston. Teams of high school students in grades 9 through 12 residing in Essex, Middlesex, Norfolk, or Suffolk counties develop project ideas through coaching from local professionals, then pitch their proposals to a live panel of judges. Winning teams receive $1,000 to $2,000 in grant funding to execute their community-strengthening visions. The program builds career skills including public speaking, project management, and team collaboration, while cultivating cross-socioeconomic connections among peers and mentors throughout the region.
The System Innovations Grant (Youth Opportunities Fund) is a multi-year funding opportunity from the Ontario Trillium Foundation that supports collaborative projects working to understand and strengthen systems so they function better for young people. Grants of up to $1,250,000 over five years fund collaboratives of two or more Ontario-based nonprofits aiming to create lasting systemic change that expands opportunities for youth ages 12 to 29, with a particular emphasis on Indigenous, Black, and other racialized youth facing systemic barriers.
