Program Grants – Philadelphia Robotics Coalition The Coalition awards Program Grants to FIRST Tech Challenge teams. Any team (or proposed team) primarily serving Philadelphia High School students is eligible to apply for the grant.
Apply for a Program Grant for your FIRST Tech Challenge Team The grants money may be used for team expenses including team or event registration, robot kits, parts, tools, computers, supplies, event food and transportation, team t-shirts, and marketing materials. Coach stipends are awarded separately. Learn more about Coach Stipends.
The typical Program Grant for a rookie team is $2000, which covers all team expenses. Veteran teams receive grants up to $1000, plus support in applying for additional grants from other sources. As part of the grant, the Coalition serves as a Team Administrator, assisting coaches with some of the financial management and requisitions.
Teams provide mid-season and year-end reports accounting for their grant money and keeping the Coalition abreast of their progress.
