Restoration and Enhancement Grant Program | ASCE's 2025 Infrastructure Report Card Restoration and Enhancement Grant Program The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) on July 15th issued a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) making $153. 8 million available through the Restoration and Enhancement Grant Program .
Projects eligible for funding under this program are meant to to initiate, restore, or enhance intercity passenger rail transportation. Expenses might include staffing costs for engineers and conductors, customer information services, planned maintenance costs of equipment and train cleaning, and station building utility and maintenance costs. States, Interstate Rail Compacts, and rail carriers are eligible to apply.
