Safe Routes to School Mini Grant is sponsored by City of Seattle. Encourages safe walking and biking to school through funding for related projects.

Mini Grants - Transportation | seattle. gov Mini Grants fund schools, PTAs, and community groups to encourage safe walking and biking to school. We’ve increased the mini grant amount to up to $1,500!

All public and private K-12 schools and PTAs within the City of Seattle and other nonprofit groups can apply. We accept applications on a rolling basis. Funds can be used to support walking, biking, and rolling to school.

Here are some examples: Denny Middle School ASB students bought t-shirts and food for Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day Daniel Bagley Elementary held a bike rodeo during Bike to School Month Painted intersection murals Outdoor clothing for walking and biking to school (winter coats, rain jackets, boots, hats, gloves, umbrellas) for Title 1 schools For quicker turnaround, request our Walking and Biking packages!

If our packages don’t include the items you’d need to support your event or program, you’re welcome to apply for a mini-grant so you can customize based on your needs. We accept grant applications on a rolling basis, which means you can apply at any time. Grant applications must be submitted with a Principal Letter of Support. What is a Principal Letter of Support?

We are looking for a letter from the Principal of your affiliated school that indicates that they are aware of and in support of the project(s) that your organization is applying for funding for. This letter of support can be brief, but should identify the proposed scope and your organization's involvement in carrying out the project(s).

Application Receipt Notice You should expect to hear back from the grant coordinator within one month of your application submission. Up to $1,500. One applicant can receive one grant per year.

Final Reports are due one year from the date your grant is awarded. These simple reports are completed within the grant system. Ready to apply?
