Curling is a lifelong sport and is loved by many from their childhood years well past retirement. The GNCC actively supports curling across the communities of its member clubs. From coordinating and facilitating regional competitions, providing support to member clubs, assisting new clubs starting, and a wide range of other activities designed to build our sport.
The GNCC has a number of dedicated funds designed to promote a chosen goal. Designed by Dooder / Freepik Established in 2000 with an gift of $50,000 from a member to honor a loved one, this fund provides low interest loans to member clubs for repair, maintenance, or replacement of previously existing equipment and facilities. For example, clubs have used this fund when ice making equipment has failed during the season.
These loans are paid back to the GNCC at reasonable rates. For additional details, contact the Memorial Fund Chair . The Second Century Fund provides funding to Junior Men's and Women's curling teams to attend elite curling camps providing training, coaching, and strategy instruction.
The fund, for example, has offered financial assistance to two GNCC teams attending the World Winter University Games (WWUGS). To apply for SCF funding, please complete the application form here . Starting in March 2025, the Second Century Fund also includes a separate, donation-funded scholarship program in memory of our first female GNCC President, Kim Freeman Theilmann.

Started in 2007 with a donation from the Krailo family, the Legacy Fund provides low-interest loans as seed money for arena clubs that are transitioning into dedicated ice facilities.
Arena clubs must be members in good standing with the GNCC for five years as part of the qualification process. Charlotte and Pittsburgh are the first two clubs to benefit from this fund. For additional details, check out the documents below or contact the Legacy Fund .
