Southern Nevada Public Land Management is a grant from the Department of the Interior that funds land conservation, parks, trails, habitat restoration, and environmental projects in Nevada. Established through the Southern Nevada Public Land Management Act (SNPLMA) of 1998, the program directs revenue from Bureau of Land Management public land sales around Las Vegas to support environmentally sensitive land acquisitions, parks and natural areas development, multi-species habitat conservation, hazardous fuels reduction, wildfire prevention, Lake Tahoe restoration, and the Eastern Nevada Landscape Restoration Project. The act also provides for affordable housing land transfers and airport noise zone conveyances. Funded projects range from Great Basin National Park habitat restoration to regional conservation planning, with priorities managed through an executive committee and interagency working group.
