Apply Now - Startup Runway Runway Startup Runway supports early-stage founders building scalable businesses and preparing for their next stage of growth. If you are early, ambitious, and building with intention, this program was designed for you.
Startup Runway is for founders who: Are based in the U.S. South (Maryland to Texas) Have at least one underrepresented founder Are past the idea stage with an MVP, early sales, customer validation, or other traction Are building a scalable, high-growth business with potential for future investment Have raised less than $250k and have not previously participated in major accelerators such as Gener8tor, Y Combinator, or Techstar.
Founders selected for Startup Runway receive: Opportunity to Compete for $10,000 non-dilutive grant Pitch preparation aligned with real investor expectations Exposure through the Startup Runway Showcase Strategic feedback from experienced operators, mentors, and investors Access to a growing founder alumni network Startup Runway offers showcases and mentoring for early stage founders throughout the year.
Each cohort includes: A short preparation period An in-person or virtual Startup Runway Showcase Ongoing visibility and engagement opportunities after the Showcase Exact timelines and locations vary by cohort and will be shared with selected founders. Startup Runway hosts 5–8 showcases each year , each focused on a specific theme, region, or partner. Founders may be considered for multiple showcases depending on fit and timing. How many grants are awarded at each showcase?
Each showcase awards 1–3 non-dilutive grants , depending on the number of finalists and the support of partners and sponsors for that event. Where are Startup Runway showcases held? Showcases are hosted in innovation hubs across the south.
Though based in Atlanta, we’ve also had events in Richmond, Savannah, Columbus, and virtually. Additional cities may be added based on founder demand and the availability of local partners. What happens if I’m selected as a finalist?
Finalists receive pitch preparation, structured feedback, and exposure leading up to the Startup Runway Showcase. Each finalist also participates in one-on-one mentoring ahead of the Showcase, where pitches are evaluated by venture capital judges. Grant recipients are selected and announced live at the conclusion of the Showcase.
What happens if I receive a grant? Startup Runway grants are fully non-dilutive . We do not take equity.
If selected, we ask that founders: Participate in occasional follow-up conversations Keep us informed of major company milestones and progress This allows us to continue supporting founders and track long-term impact. Does Startup Runway take equity or require repayment? No. Startup Runway grants are non-dilutive and do not require repayment.
Can I apply if I’m not selected for a specific showcase? Yes. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and founders may be considered for future showcases as they grow their business, gain traction, or align with upcoming showcase themes.
