The University Nanosatellite Program (UNP), now accepting proposals. - AFRL Regional Network - Midwest The University Nanosatellite Program (UNP), now accepting proposals. Published On: January 23, 2024 Categories: Funding , Innovation , Technology The University Nanosatellite Program (UNP) funds teams of university students to design, build, launch, and operate small satellites.
The program enables students to foster skills in systems engineering, integration, and operations planning through a concept-to-flight-ready spacecraft development process, which includes four phases: design, integration and testing, environmental testing, and operations. UNP provides a pipeline of talent trained in satellite development to industry and government/military organizations.
UNP is funded by Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR) and managed from the Air Force Research Laboratory’s (AFRL) Space Vehicles Directorate (RV) located on Kirtland Air Force Base, NM. Proposals are currently being solicited for universities interested in participating in the program. Visit the UNP website for more information and to view the RFP.
