SWMD Annual Grant Funding | MARC Strengthening support for the gift of longevity and aging in place Developing quality early learning programs for all children Building a competitive regional economy with plentiful housing Creating a healthy environment with clean air and water Improving health outcomes through nutrition and mental and physical health supports Helping cities and counties work more efficiently and effectively Coordinating effective emergency services and a reliable 911 system across boundaries Working toward a safe and balanced transportation system SWMD Annual Grant Funding The Mid-America Regional Council Solid Waste Management District offers grants to city and county governments, businesses, schools, nonprofit organizations and other interested parties to increase waste reduction, reuse and recycling rates in our region.
All projects must be located within the Solid Waste Management District, which represents Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte and Ray counties in Missouri. The SWMD Grant Call process includes a mandatory pre-application and a full application. Pre-applications are due by 5 p.
m. CDT on Tuesday, April 21 Full applications are due Monday, July 20. Applicants must submit a pre-application in order to submit a full application.
Projects will begin Jan. 1, 2027 2027 SWMD Grant Evaluation Criteria Projects that promote creative approaches toward waste management, before it is waste. Examples include reuse and repair.
Expand access throughout the district to recover useful materials like organics and electronics. Includes collection and landfill diversion of large and bulky items like furniture, porcelain, and mattresses. Separation and aggregation of materials for markets or manufacturing Example materials are mattresses, batteries, wood, drywall and textiles.
