Western Digital STEM Scholarship - Scholarship America Western Digital STEM Scholarship Western Digital’s STEM scholarship program is designed to support the next generation of talent as they work toward their career goals. Western Digital STEM Scholarship As a technology leader, Western Digital is committed to expanding access to STEM education by reducing financial barriers for students in the STEM field. Students must be transferring from a U.S. community college to a four-year university in pursuit of a STEM degree.

The program is administered by Scholarship America ® , the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the U.S. Western Digital STEM Scholarship must meeting the following criteria: Important Eligibility Information, Please Read Carefully Be a current full-time undergraduate student attending a two-year community college in the United States (U.S.) Planning to transfer to full-time enrollment at an accredited four-year college or university in the U.S. for the upcoming academic year (for which the scholarship will be applied) Pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in the field of Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or other Sciences (not including agricultural, health, or life) Have a minimum GPA of 2.

7 on a 4. 0 scale (or equivalent) Demonstrate financial need or hardship Please Note: Only applicants meeting all criteria will be considered. Only submit an application if you are currently enrolled in a two-year community college and plan to transfer to a four-year college or university in the upcoming academic year.

Students who have received two Western Digital Scholarships in the past are ineligible. Dependents of Western Digital employees who meet the requirements are eligible to apply. However, preference will not be given to employee dependents.

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $5,000 award. 50+ awards will be granted. Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Awards are not renewable. Recipients may only receive one Western Digital scholarship award each year; and up to two (2) Western Digital scholarships awards in a lifetime. All applicants will be notified in late May.

Notifications are sent via email. When setting up your account, avoid using a school or work email. Instead, use an active, personal email address that you will continue to have access to.

Please make sure to add studentsupport@scholarshipamerica. org as well as the program email address as safe senders in your email contact list. Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Western Digital Technologies, Inc. Payment is made in early August.

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of: Academic excellence as demonstrated by GPA and rigor of coursework Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities Quality of application and personal statement Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Western Digital Technologies, Inc. play a part in the selection.

Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

As part of your application, you must upload the following: A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display: Credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.
