ZOLL Foundation Grants is sponsored by ZOLL Foundation. Provides seed grants for early-stage research focused on improving care for patients with serious cardiopulmonary and respiratory conditions.

Early-stage research funding The ZOLL ® Foundation supports research that is focused on improving care for patients suffering from serious cardiopulmonary and respiratory conditions. By awarding "seed" grants, as low as $25,000, but sometimes exceeding $100,000, to young researchers around the world, the ZOLL Foundation provides funding to support medical research that saves lives.

Our scope encompasses a wide range of areas including, but not limited to, emergency medicine, critical care, trauma, cardiovascular health, pulmonary health, sleep-disordered breathing, neuroscience, and translational research focused on applying discoveries to enhance training and delivery in clinical practice.

Applications for funding are reviewed by the ZOLL Foundation’s Board of Directors twice a year, with deadlines of March 31 and September 30.

Grant approvals are oriented toward: research in new therapies or techniques; research to better understand training and treatment practices; projects whose initial results may allow researchers to seek additional funding from other sources, enabling continued research that will require more extensive trials or scale. Since awarding the first grants in 2014, the ZOLL Foundation has awarded nearly $8 million to 172 grantees.

Established in 2013 by ZOLL ® Medical Corporation, Asahi Kasei Corporation, the Packer Family Foundation, and the employees of ZOLL Medical, the ZOLL Foundation is a nonprofit organization that qualifies as tax-exempt under the United States Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3). Contributions to the ZOLL Foundation from organizations and individuals are tax-deductible under Section 170 of the Code.

The ZOLL Foundation is also registered as a nonprofit charity with the Office of the Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
