Many Alabama organizations offer training and assistance for research, grant writing and fundraising. Some resources are membership -based, while others offer free assistance. Alabama Giving is a project to increase, promote, and encourage philanthropy statewide.
Education programs and materials are available to encourage the creation of new foundations and corporate giving programs, increase gifts to existing organizations and communicate the value and importance of philanthropy. The Alabama Association of Nonprofits is an association of nonprofit organizations in the state. Membership is open to any nonprofit, primarily 501(c)(3) and 501 (c)(4), in Alabama.
The association has an annual conference and sponsors workshops and seminars throughout the state. Alabama Planned Giving Council (APGC) is an organization for professionals in Alabama whose work involves charitable gift planning.
Its membership is comprised of individuals from many professional disciplines -- attorneys, trust officers, charitable fundraisers, accountants, financial planners, insurance counselors, brokers and executives of nonprofit organizations.
