3. Long Island Forward Housing Program (LIFHP) The Long Island Forward Housing Program (LIFHP) is a $10 million initiative by Empire State Development (ESD) to address the housing shortage in Nassau and Suffolk Counties.
The program provides no-cost technical assistance to Long Island municipalities to help them overcome obstacles to housing development, enhance affordability, and strengthen local capacity to create high-quality, multifamily homes.
