South Dakota Humanities Council Grant Program Created in 1972, the South Dakota Humanities Council (SDHC) provides financial support to public humanities programs. SDHC is a non-profit organization and the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). Besides providing financial support, SDHC offers a variety of educational and literary programs and houses the South Dakota Center for the Book.
