These corporate foundations, nonprofit organizations and federal agencies support preservation projects. The mission of the 1772 Foundation is to preserve and enhance American historic properties for future generations to enjoy, with particular interest in farming, industrial development, transportation and unusual historic buildings.
The Nat ional Park Service’s American Battlefield Protection Program (ABPP) provides grants for projects that lead directly to identification, preservation, and interpretation of battlefield land and/or associated sites. Eligible applicants include federal, tribal, state, and local governments; educational institutions; and private-sector organizations.
The National Trust Preservation Fund of the NTHP offers several types of financial assistance to nonprofit organizations, public agencies, for-profit companies, and individuals involved in preservation-related projects. 8552. NTHP Johanna Favrot Fund for Historic Preservation This grant provides up to $10,000 for consultants to assist with many aspects of preservation, for preservation conferences and for innovative preservation education programs.
NTHP Cynthia Woods Mitchell Fund for Historic Interiors This program provides grants for up to $10,000 for consultants to assist with many aspects of interior preservation, for preservation conferences and for innovative preservation education programs. Individuals and businesses may apply for projects involving a National Historic Landmark.
NTHP Preservation Services Fund This fund provides up to $5,000 for rehab plans and specs, feasibility studies or historic structures reports; heritage education, and conferences. Tourism Cares for Tomorrow Grant recipients must be classified as non-profit and tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Code. Historically, typical grants have ranged between $10,000 and $20,000.
However, based on merit and availability of funds, some grants up to $100,000 will also be considered. State Farm: Strong Neighborhoods, Community Development Grant Supports nonprofit programs that foster sustainable communities and rehabilitate neighborhoods. Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) grants are awarded on a competitive basis to Indian tribes, Native Hawaiian organizations, and museums that need financial assistance to fund projects associated with NAGPRA compliance.
